REACHING ELBA: Car ferries leave Piombino almost hourly for Portoferraio in the summer season. There are also a couple of daily ferries for Porto Azzurro and Rio Marina. The main shipping companies are Toremar and Mobylines and the Piombino-Portoferraio crossing takes one hour. Recently a new 'fast' boat carrying a limited number of cars is in service. A hydrofoil service (no cars) takes 40 minutes. REACHING OUR HOTEL IN SECCHETO: Once you arrive at Portoferraio with the ferry, just follow the directions for Procchio and then for Marina di Campo. From Marina di Campo follow the road for 'Cavoli-Seccheto-Fetovaia'. Once past Palombaia pass you join the Costa del Sole road.
